No One Wants to be Overweight / Obese

No one wants to be overweight or obese. This is the same as being sick. No one wants to be sick. Why because it feels absolutely awful. Excess fat on the body is equivalent to being sick, but instead of being sick for 24-48 hours you are sick every single day of the week for an indefinite amount of time.

Let’s assume it’s possible to push past the psychological problems posed by excess weight and/or obesity. Meaning poor self-esteem, avoidance of social situations, and the daily stigma and discrimination faced by patients struggling with their weight. Can you push past the chronic fatigue, inability to sleep, poor concentration, skin irritation, and poor digestion? Can you push past diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, sleep apnea, fertility problems, chronic digestive conditions, kidney disease, sexual dysfunction, and cancers?  If you are able to get past all of that then can you accept a life expectancy that is on average 5-7 years shorter?

The answer is unanimously NO. The excess fat cells on the body serve many functions. One of which is the overwhelming release of inflammatory mediators upon the body. These include tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1beta, interleukin-6, vascular endothelial growth factor, cathepsin, resistin, c-reactive protein, and more. The complex combination of the excess weight and elevated circulating cytokines contribute to the overall poorly functioning state that many patients feel like their doomed to experience for the rest of their live.

This feeling of doom comes from patients personal experiences prior to seeking the correct treatment. The past personal experiences unfortunately are not unique to certain patients. These experiences comprise of countless wasted diet attempts, multiple sweat equity attempts in the gym, and sometimes even unadvisable use of weight loss drugs.

Fortunately, the past experiences are no longer a reason to feel hopeless any longer. The destination for weight loss is The Metabolism Clinic. The clinic is setting the standard for weight loss by targeting the source of weight; the metabolism.
